Humanitarian Crisis in Gaza
Israel's war with Hamas, following the brutal attack on Israelis on October 7, has resulted in devastating consequences for Palestinian civilians in Gaza, creating a severe and prolonged humanitarian crisis.
Tens of thousands have died, hundreds of thousands are injured or sick, and approximately 1.9 million people, around 85% of Gaza's population, are displaced and living in densely packed tent refugee camps.
Health Crisis Among Displaced Population
The ongoing conflict has severely impacted healthcare access for many displaced individuals in Gaza, exacerbating the humanitarian crisis:
- 350,000 individuals with chronic illnesses face treatment disruptions
- 485,000 people with mental health disorders experience treatment disruptions
- 1.9 million IDPs (internally displaced persons) living in precarious conditions
- High risk of communicable diseases due to overcrowding and poor sanitation.
- Supporting patients in need of specialized treatments.
- Only 120 of 353 IDP shelters have access to healthcare facilities
- To ensure CRA compliance, funds support our Wheels of Hope program, allowing our global affiliates to directly contribute to the Gaza Mobile Tent Clinics.
